I approached Eccleston Aviation when looking for a 2nd hand Rotax for my hovercraft. Simon provided some great advice as I was deciding which engine to buy, and the engine arrived fully serviced and in tip top condition.
The aftersales service from Simon has also been amazing. As a novice to Rotax’s, I had several questions regarding installation of the engine, which Simon answered quickly and comprehensively. I also required a few additional items to finish off the installation in the Hovercraft, which Simon sent to me really promptly.”
Thank you to the Eccleston Aviation team…great work!
I’m pleased to take this opportunity to relate my experience when I was stranded in Lancashire recently. Flying a French aircraft of a type unknown in the UK I was grounded by a Rotax engine problem. Simon Worthington jumped in his van immediately and worked tirelessly to resolve the problem – which proved particularly intractable due to the special efforts of the French aircraft design engineers! The engine issue was nevertheless resolved with expert competence and good humour and I flew the aircraft back to France with confidence. Many thanks!
Excellent service from Simon at Eccleston Aviation , drove down from Scotland for a new sprag clutch and water hoses on my 912s , was done the same day while I waited
Simon recently carried out a shock test and service on our Rotax 912UL. He came recommend from our LAA inspector, and he was right. Easy to get on with, trustworthy and brilliant at his work. Couldn’t have asked for better service.
Friendly and efficient customer service is Eccleston Aviation’s by word and claim to fame. Nothing to much trouble, excellent communication and quality work carried out. If you have a dodgy engine which needs repairing or just want your engine serviced I highly recommend Simon’s team at Eccleston Aviation.
Following your last visit to Welshpool, I wanted to thank you for such a superlative job with all the Engine service work and scheduled maintenance. It was great that you could stopover with us and you’d be welcome anytime you might be in the area. Still amazed however that we achieved everything is such a tight time frame. All the work done is perfect and it is great to have the peace of mind that all is current and 100% following your comprehensive attention to everything imaginable. Thanks once again
Having been flying for 2 years now and very apprehensive about doing maintenance works on my 462 Blade myself. Especially the other week when I replaced the oil pipes to the reservoir and put it back the wrong way round and suffered an engine failure shortly after take off at 570 feet and emergency landed in a field! A very scary moment indeed!
Simon at Eccleston Aviation has carried out all the major maintenance works on my aircraft to the highest level giving me absolute peace of mind. Last year he did an engine strip down and decoke as well as stripping and removing the rotary disc shaft due to brass gear failure (my fault hence the engine failure). Replacing and reassembling etc.
I thoroughly recommend Eccleston Aviation for all your aircraft needs. They offer a swift response as well as peace of mind for when you are flying. Nothing is too much trouble for them.
have dealt with Eccleston Aviation for many years, Their service has always been first class, Simon is always prepared to go the extra mile with Help and Advice as well as Speedy Spares and Servicing.
I have known Simon for several years now from when he was an apprentice to his uncle Keith (the founder of Eccleston Aviation) and have always found him to be friendly and helpful.
He is now the owner and operator of the company and has done many engine jobs for us at Northern Microlights. He is prompt, knowledgeable, capable and his prices are very reasonable and I would not hesitate to recommend him.
Simon W, is a splendid bloke
For full rebuild, or just decoke
He’ll help you as much, as ever he can
For your Rotax engine, he’s your man
Starting was a problem, whenever I flew
Till Simon found a crack, in my 582
Did more than I asked, to uncover the trouble
And fixed the problem, yes at the double
Avoid an unplanned landing, away from base
Speak to the only guy, to get on your case
So here’s to all, my rec-o-mendation
It’s Simon W at Eccleston Aviation
I have always used Eccleston Aviation for services & repair to the Rotax 912s installed in my Europa. They are a friendly bunch and always done a sterling job on my engine. Good workmanship, fast turnaround when necessary. I am happy to recommend this company.
Earlier this year (2015) Simon stripped and refurbed our Rotax 462 HP engine and gearbox from our ancient Pegasus XL-R aerotow Tug. Wonderful job done in a very quick time. Great service and great afterservice with information when I had questions on Bing 54 carb settings for the power unit.
Very helpfull and competent, I can recommend Eccleston Aviation service!
I have been towing my various flexwing trikes on the trailer all the way up the M6 to Eccleston Aviation for an annual service for the last 3 years. Its a long trip for me (100+ miles) but its been well worth the effort for the peace of mind it provides. My recent solo trip over the English Channel and down through the French Alps in my Quik was challenging for me, especially as a fairly newly qualified pilot, but knowing that my engine had been regularly professionally serviced and inspected by Eccleston Aviation just gave me that extra bit of confidence I needed to take on the more ambitious trips.
Simon provides both an excellent and reasonably priced service. He is always happy to share his technical expertise either face to face, or over the phone, whenever I have run into a problem with my engine or trike. Being a flexwing pilot himself really gives Simon a much better understanding and background knowledge to get the job done right.
I would highly recommend Eccleston Aviation to anyone wanting to get their Rotax engine or airframe professionally serviced or repaired.
I first heard of Eccleston Aviation on the local Micro light grapevine and as my 582 Rotax was well overdue for a major stripdown and evaluation. So with the engine removed from my Mercury and safety strapped down in the boot of my car and I set off to meet Simon. I was met not only by a smiling confident individual which I found most reassuring from the start but also a nice hot cuppa to boot. Turn around was fast with my engine now also looking like a new pin. A full printed report and new recommended run in procedures were also there to greet me on my return. Very happy with the service provided and more than happy to recommend this professional to anyone with a Rotax in need of some TLC
